With the awareness of certain societal hierarchical structures, they share their stories about how one of their identities was implicitly or explicitly taught to them as being inferior to, as opposed to the other identity which is regarded as more desirable. They share their own experiences, those of their parents of colour and their ancestors who came before. To eventually circle back to being aware of colonization not only on a greater scale but mostly in our minds and how decolonizing can begin from within.
